According to recent reports from international media, Cdiscount, which started as an online discount retailer, has now become France's second most popular website, attracting over 11 million unique visitors per month. Recently, Cdiscount announced its partnership with foreign exchange company Currencies Direct to provide euro payment collection services for sellers.
Cdiscount's C le Marché e-commerce platform, launched in 2011, has experienced rapid growth. Currently, the marketplace hosts over 9,000 sellers, contributing 27.5% of Cdiscount.com’s total sales.
Since transactions on Cdiscount are conducted in euros, the partnership with Currencies Direct will enable sellers to receive payments in euros efficiently. New sellers can apply for Currencies Direct as a payment option during registration, while existing sellers can update their payment settings directly through Cdiscount’s seller management account.
Currencies Direct claims that its service can help sellers save up to 75% on foreign exchange costs compared to traditional bank transfers. While the savings per transaction may seem small, they can accumulate over a year into a substantial amount, significantly increasing sellers’ overall profitability.
